About Penn Neon Sign in Yuma, AZ
We have been family-owned since 1946. It all started with Bernie Pensky, who started the business after he returned from WWII. Bernie's father, Louis, was a paint store owner in Chicago. He was also a very successful painter. Bernie was inspired by his father's work and the fulfilling career he had built for himself. It was then that Bernie decided to follow in his father's footsteps. He moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in school to learn how to make neon. Perry, Bernie's son and the owner of Penn Neon Sign today, was raised in his father's store. He learned the trade and became enamored with the process, just like his father and grandfather. Perry became the vice president in 1981 after he came home from college, and became the president in 1986.
